I was thing of running the power line underneath the car(with some protection of course). I'm definately running the RCA cables under the step peices. Any suggestions?

Run the RCA's down one side, power down the other. Keep both under the "steps". They don't have to be miles apart, but the further the better.

one question....why? that will take lots of extra wire, and will be unnessecarily risky. i dont even want to think what would happen if you snagged it on a rock or something, ripped off the insulation, and then didnt find out till next time you were driving in the rain

im just curious why youd do it that way rather than through the firewall and under the carpet

You want to run them under the carpet the amp power on one side and the RCAs on the other side. You will get "noise" if you run them together. wink

Because i don't want to drill through the fire wall. But i guess I'll have to.

Any suggestions on the best place?

Looking at the firewall from the engine, there will be a black tear-shaped plastic grommet (assuming you have an ATX. I don't know if it's there in an MTX). Drill into that grommet and there will just be some insulation there. Get a sharp knife and poke a hole in it. Run the wire through this hole and you will see it just above the brake pedal.
