hi.. i had best buy install my HU last time, i replaced it with a Pioneer Deh-m6500, 1995 ford contour.

most of the wires seemed to match up, except my ford had a Blue, and orange/black that i didnt know what to connect to, and the HU had a Yellow & Black.

Problems:
the ceiling lights dont work, and a few others.
HU didnt turn on.
whenever i release the brakes, thers a peice of plastic under the shifter that clicks back and forth, only when the battery is on does it do this.

anyone know what i did wrong, do the dimmer/illumination wires have to do with this, i dont think i connected those right..?

thanks

Check it out, you may find your wiring is incorrect.

Here are your Pioneer wire-codes in case you can't read the wire labels.

hmm this sucks. i didnt know i oculd mess up installing a HU so badly lol

all the fuses were good, i think i correctly hooked up all of the wires to the HU, but the reason why it wont turn on is the same reason as the rest of my interior lights wont turn on.
are there other fuses to check?

if this is still a problem for you, the same thing happened to me when trying to get my subs to work in my svt.

the interior lighting/cd player fuse blew twice while i was doing it..and eventually the internal amp on my head unit fried so for now im back to the stock cd player..

i believe i blew this fuse when i was connecting the amp-turn on wire from my head unit, to the stock amp wire. maybe its a better idea to not have these plugged into the cd player or anything else while doing it ...

Rule #1:

When working on your car's electrical system, disconnect the (-) battery terminal.

No blown fuses or fried equipment (unless incorrectly connected). An expensive or frustrating lesson to learn...
