You may want to meet up with Dave to have a listen. He may be able to help you figure out what it is that you find lacking and what you may want to improve.

A smaller sub box for your current driver might help. Add stuffing it there isn't any now. I wouldn't both going to 8" drivers. The quality of the output does not depend on the size. A Lambda PB and a new amp would the ultimate upgrade, IMO.

HU = NAK CD40z

The bass just isn't oriented/balanced/tuned well. I plan to reinstall everything this fall - trunk is almost unusable as it is. Better layout, and a good time to make changes. Mabey it is just tuning.

Also, I occasionally get a protection circuit thrown on the 1002 when listening at low volumes. Currently the dvcs are parallel into the bridged amp.

I never heard the PB but I wouldn't doubt all the accolades.

What about the A series from a/d/s? just a thought.

You can get this IDQ10D2 V.2 in Dual 2 ohm. These are great in the SQ depo as are these PPI Pro 10

Let us know what you decide.
Sorry, i messed that up....It is 100x2 at 4 ohm, 200x1 at 8 ohm and theoretically should be 400wx1 at 4 ohm.

What are the levels set at on your HU? Try setting everything back to ZERO and give that dreaded "LOUD" button a try.

I bet your box is the problem. Maybe there is a way to Make it smaller to test sizes. Dave might have a suggestion. I wouldn't stuff it though. I think the .5-75 area would be best suited.

Keep us posted and good luck.

Check the gains on the amp as well.

The box is about perfect for that driver, but you could try placing 2x4s in it to take up volume to see if you get the sound you are after.
