On my non-SVT I ran my 4AWG to the right of the battery, around the strut tower, then down to a grommet on the driver's side of the firewall. From there, I routed the cable to the side plastic moulding right behind the hood release lever, then all the way back to the trunk.

All in all, it was a lot easier to run 4 gauge than I thought it would be. Just remember to use wire ties where appropriate.

I went the easiest way possible, though the factory frame rail holes wink You can get 1/0 through there if need be

You can route the power wire into the cabin through the teardrop shaped hole, you just pop the black rubber thing out and punch a hole in it, then stick the wire through and put the rubber thing back in place (i'm not sure if all the contours have that hole available, but check the right side of the firewall). Once in the cabin, you can route the wire to the back by going underneath the black weather seals, i'm not sure how well it will fit though. Remember to use plastic wire loom to protect the wire in the engine bay, just to be safe. smile

It's around your clutch and brake pedals. I used to have a picture on my server, but seem to have deleted it during a clean up. I'll see if I can grab another photo today.

in a related question, if iam splitting power to 2 amps, is it better to place the distribution block closer to the battery or closer to the amps? or does it even matter?

Doesn't really matter, better off to put it closer to the amps so you dont waste as much wire.

IIRC, isn't there a part in place of the rubber grommet on an SVT?

Here are the pics, both from the footwell. Sorry, I couldn't follow the cable all the way up but it definitely goes through an existing hole in the firewall. In case you're not too sure, it's the large red wire you're looking for.
