That is interesting I am insured through ING for both my car and house and I only pay $1,400 a year for both. And I am rated higher because of all the driving I do.

That's probably because you don't live in downtown Toronto!
Insurance I found out, is more if you live within X km's of the core. Go figure.........
Some companies as worse than others with the way they charge.

Let's see, Laura has that, plus probably a multiple subscriber discount because of the house.
I'm lucky my premiums went DOWN because of one item being dropped off my record (so that 6 year rule worked). I'm also rated higher because of my distance. Because I take public transit into work, that helps a LOT! But then again, I have SBD, so they get more money from me

I'm lucky because we have all our insurance together with one company ... but mostly I'm lucky because it took about 9months for my ticket to be added to my record ... so my insurance was still low I pay something like $1,800 with 100% business driving ... sucks to be an immigrant reduced to a 2* record By the way ... if you marry your broker you can get something like 20% discount

Conversely, if you divorce your broker, your premiums could shoot through the roof
