I was wondering if its a good idea to mount my amp on the back of the fold down seat. The surface feels sturdy enough but I just wanted to make sure it wouldnt fall off when the seat was up. If it can't support the weight of the amp I wont do it. Worst comes to worst I will mount it on the side of my subs. Just to give you an idea of the weight, the amp is an Orion SX 275 the old black ones from 6-7 years ago. Thanks.

you definitely can put it on the back of the seat if you attach it well enough, ive seen HUGE amps mounted like that. just make sure the heat will be able to dissipate from the amp and youre good

Mounting amps !

You know where i put mine ? I put mine right above the box, on the inside top of the truck. I measured a bit and theres probably enough to put a cap, 2 amps, and a crossover without crowding.

I have had my sub amp mounted there for a year now with no problems what so ever. Very secure and no heat problem.

It's a done deal, I also put my cross over next to it and used tiny tie straps on all the wires to make it look purty, with the exception for the bent corner from when some butthole tried to steal my orion out of my Tempo but couldn't get the last bolt off because I stripped it on purpose hehe.

The only down side now is that I have to get a new licence plate, I lost it on the road due to vibration althought it wasn't entirely the subs fault. I noticed the screw holes for the plate was freakin stripped out and it looks like the dealer tried stuffing teflon tape or somthing similar to make the screws stick.
