Ok so i got one of those roush prepped tranny's from the GB last year, still havn't installed (along with the 3l block in my garage) but anyways:

to those of you who got one and installed it;

1) did you upgrade any of the components inside b4 u installed?

2) how does the torsen diff seem to work with it?

3) which fluid did you opt to put into the tranny?

Just purchasing a few more parts b4 i dive into this massive rebuild in the summer

IIRC the only difference on the roush tranny's is the zetec final drive.

Same diff, all other gears the same.

You will still need to perform all the same improvements to this transmission that you would any other pre-2000 tranny.

The torsen or quaife will fit fine.

Exactly - the Roush aka Bob Bondurant tranny has one difference ONLY the zetec final drive.

The diff is the same piece of glass as in every other MTX-75.

Gewt a Quaife or Torsen in that before you use it. Period.

Myth/BS.

They might have received some difference in the hardening but NOTHING worth talking about.

Face it. The MTX-75 diff is a piece of sh!t, even if Il Papo blessed it himself.

thats what they told me...and my answer now is next week...to change the 3rd gear synchro parts...and shift forks, and swapping to a 95-97 diff...and then as soon as i can afford it, a torsen...

the only reason that i am not doing this now is that the 95-97 has better gears in it...i snapped a gear in half in my 98 differential...so take that for what you will.

Hey it's your money but why even BOTHER with putting in another stock diff? the 95-97 may have, may have, an increase in yield strength of 10-15%, but you're wasting time and money putting that in especially seeing as you are attaching it to a 3L!

Seriously, don't cheap out now.... do it right and put in a diff that is worth a damn.

Hell maybe you think it's fun pulling out trannies. I certainly don't think they are all that fun, and if a diff lets go an wipes out some gears then you're going regret it even more.

Seriously people why is eveyone so half-assed these days...?
