Hi, i have recently picked up a 99 Contour SE 4 cyl, 86k. I am looking to have some fun with it (Modding - Engine,performance,rims,etc.).
I am looking for some options on what you guys and gals would start out with as far as modding or upgrades. Like performance wise ( intake, etc.).
Also where would be the best place to look for parts (Autozone, internet, etc.).
Just looking to have fun and no "Major overalls or expenses".

If it's an ATX and not a stick - well I hope there are Yugo's around you, for you to beat up on as dumping any money into that combo (4cyl - auto) is a waste, honestly.

its not that much of a waste just cause we dont have svts' and manuels...doesnt mean we cant have fun  look into maybe an intake (most common mod), search the forums and how tos and you should come up with some cool stuff. enjoy your modding!

Since nobody else wants to post even a little list, I will.
1. spark plug wires
2. intake
3. exhaust (maybe a little on the expensive side)
4. upgraded brakes
5. ss brake lines and/or bleed the brakes
6. rims
7. performance tires
8. sway bar
9. headlight mods (makin them clear again, sylvania (sp?) bulbs, etc...)
10. painted or mesh grill
11. poly bushings (thoughout the car)
12. fog lights (if you don't already have 'em)
13. hood lift kit
14. stereo upgrades
15. LED mods
16. short-throw (if you got a manual)
