Ok, so i bought 2 12 and an amp. I wired it all up, and no sound from the subs. Ok, it is: grounded, powered, subs connected to amps, amp RCA to the HU. I think i read some where that i need a turn on, or remote wire? on the amp there is a spot marked remote. I would definately have to buy a new cord for it. I was under the impression you didn't have to install a remote switch if you didnt want to? Can anyone help? A buddy of mine(fellow CEGer) is commin over saturday to help out, but I'm kind of wondering what I'm doin wrong, or if i need to get more stuff. Thanks guys smile

simple way to answer that, yes you want one. does your amp have a power light? i bet its not lit up. and you do want a remote turn on connected to the 12vpower so that the amp isnt powered all the time, draining your battery

Connect the remote to either the remote turn-on lead or power antenna lead from the HU.

Sounds like you definately made a rookie mistake! What sucks is now you've gotta take **** apart to run 1 little tiny wire! I forget who it is, I wanna say MTX, but there is a company making amps that don't require the remote lead. They sense when a signal is being sent through the RCA's and that turns the amp on.
