I have a 95 mystique that I purchased with stock 195/65 R14 rims.
I'm putting in the BAT Euro kit which will drop the cars ride height 1 inch.
I plan on getting SVT Focus 17" rims 17x7 49.5 offset.
If I move to a 235/40 R17 tire I'll keep the diameter somewhat close to stock and my speedo will be fairly accurate. It's a bit wider than I see others putting on their vehicles. The other choice I have would be 215/40 R17 which I think would be safe and a litle more accurate to the speedo.
Does anyone make a 225/40 R17 tire? I did some searching and couldn't find that tire size.
The question is has anyone got the 235/40 setup and do you have any rubbing issues with the 49.5 offset? Or those will some experience with tires do you think that there will be any rubbing issues? Or is there a company or guy I can contact that would have some knowledge about this and be able to help me?

I had 225/50/16 and they rubbed like a mofo. I did NOT bend the wheel part though so that might help if u bend it.

Was your original size the 195/65 r14 because if it was you added an inch to the overall diameter of the tire. Which way did you rub on the side or top?
