Well as all of you probably know by now, I've been without my blueprint 1001 for a few months, and finally decided to put another sub in. I ended up getting an orion extreme dvc 10 from ubid for 45.00 plus shipping. I didn't want to spend alot of money because I'm only hoping that this would be a temporary sub until blueprint stops smoking hash. That said, I just finished installing it, and listened to a few different tracks on various cds. First off, it doesn't even come close to the BP 1001 in any area of performance, but it sounds okay for now. I know orion recommends a .85 cu ft sealed enclosure for this sub, and mine is .66, and I think that is hindering it's performance "a bit". I guess considering what I paid for it, it's not bad, but I'm not overly excited either. Like I said, hopefully BP puts the pipe down, starts selling subs again, and sends me the one they owe me.

Man, I'm sorry you're not too happy with the Orion...I feel bad for pointing you that way. frown
Just polyfill the hell out of the box and see if that helps.
I have had good luck with Orion subs, provided you don't have the corner of a toolbox fly through the cone.... :p

Hey man, don't be sorry; i'm just saying that in comparisom to the 1001 it's not nearly as good, but like I said, it will only be temporary. Oh BTW, I did use some polyfill when I put it in, but I still think the box is too small. Hey, you still pointed me in the direction of a pretty good sub at a great price. i'm actually going to go outside in a minute and try to tweak it a bit more and try to get some better results.

Thanks. I just made a few adjustments and was able to improve the sound quite abit. It definatley sounds much better now. It sounds good at low to mid volume, but I can tell that I can't push it nearly as hard as the BP 1001. On the plus side, I was able to turn my gain down alittle on my amp and being that the sub is running at an 8 ohms my amp doesn't heat up at all.
