The harness on my 98 contour was in REAL BAD condition. For wants way too much and to find one is ok condition is almost impossible.

The 99+ dont seem to have the same problem as the 98 and down models. Only problem is that it is returnless and the harness is diffrent.

Get a harness from a 99+ at a junk yard and....

All you have to do is cut off the fuel pressure transducer connector (or just tape it aside). And either change the front bank o2 sensor tot he newer style connector or cut off your old connector and solder it in.

Thoes are the only 2 diffrences. So all you got to do is cut and solder 4 wires!

If it's returnless then also...

...the knock sensor plug.

...all 6 injector plugs.


{yes it's both front bank O2 sensor plugs}


Hmmm... I feel I'm missing another one... Maybe not?


2000 SVT #674 13.47 @ 102 - All Motor! It was not broke; Yet I fixed it anyway.

yes, the 6 injector plugs need to change or you need to go to a new injector ( i chose the latter, im running the 24 lb injectors.) Forgot that one...thanks demon!

You only have to change the one o2 sensor plug like i stated. The other 3 are on the rear main engine harness. I have not yet replaced that one with a returnless. Just the one atop the engine over the LIM. Thats the reason i did not mention the knock sensor plug.

I can state for a fact my 2000 harness has:

The new knock sensor plug. (and knock sensor of course)

It also uses the new primary O2 sensors with respective plugs.


I still feel I'm missing another change too...

Oil pressure sensor plug changed in '00 to a male connector that fit inside the sensor from the standard single wire female plug-on-post conector.

I converted my 99 harness over to support the new oil pressure sensor, new knock sensor, and new O2 sensors.

I knew there was another plug & sensor that changed.

I would not know about the 2k harness. I know what the oil pressure plug looks like on the newer models thoe. its the same plug used on the taurus. I unded up resuing the taurus sensor and converted the plug over as well..
