well, I just spent 375 bucks for the re-installation of my amps and alpine processor to the trunk. The guys did a great job, and used a board screwed to the shelf area nearest the edge and mounted everything there. He also rewired everything and changed my crossovers...about 7 hrs of work,,,,not much in materials,,,but I feel a bit foolish not having it done myself,,,but I have no tools nor garage,,,and didnt wanna mess anything up,,,no sense having good gear and not a good install...

Pics will be arriving at some point in the future...

Been there, done that whiteSE. What's even worse is having paid them in the past, then later down the road when you find out how easy it is to do and you do it yourself, you see that you can actually do a better job.

yeah,,,I agree,,,but I aint lazy,,,thr problem lies in that I work every day and never have the loong time it takes to get it all done in one day...I am an impatient *******..

Lesson is: go into a shop,,fish for ideas,,,then do it yourself..

I agree with the thing about how long it takes. My g/f's focus was a ***** to do. The contour was a piece of cake. Went to do the focus, and i ended up stupid at the end of the day.

I gave a thorough listen today and the difference is amazing. The Soundstream crossover helped tons in eliminating some distrotion I had going thru teh tweets with those stupid little Caps the previous guy had installed (lazy bum).
The system is dead quiet (its like an aneochic chamber (sp).

Even there was some noise coming thru the HU when the face was closed..all gone now.

Also: I have two sets of 4 meters of KnuKoncepts cable that I didnt need...I forgot that the HU to processor only needed the Optical and AiNet cable.

You know what is really weird, I could disconnect my optical cable and still have music, they say the Ai-NET is not suppose to carry audio (other than for changers) I had no RCA's and no optical and still sound, strange....

Shops in my area are all pathetic, I would not let anyone near my car even if I had no clue as to what I was doing. They may be able to do radio installs, but when it comes to a comple install or even a mutli-amp install they all cut too many corners and they have insane prices to boot. (a couple sell KnuKonceptz Products though wink )

Yeah,,,If I turn off the digital output thru the HU menu, music still is till carried to the processor,,,that is why I thought I had RCA's...amazing,,,,Another story from the AInet zone...
