Hey, it has a wing, a bodykit, and massive wheels. It looks cool, but I would take a stock looking turbo 3L over that any day. Unless, of course, it has serious engine mods. If it does, then tell me. I just don't like those cars, no matter how well done they are. "Tuners" that throw on big wheels and body dtuff don't impress me. Lingenfelter, that's a tuner.

As I stated...
You can have any PREFERENCE you want.. and I, personally, would vote for the modded 3 vice a stock engined car as that one.. HOWEVER.. to simply state that its "a ricer" because it happens to have rims and a (very well matched) spoiler on it, isn't exactly stating that you prefer 3L mods, instead.. its ONLY knocking on something that I doubt you could do either way.
I just think that it would have come across a LOT more convincing and a lot LESS critical if you had stated something along the lines of: "looks good, but I have always preferred go over show.... good job though"... or something... even if you didn't like it, you can still state that you don't like it in much more friendly ways...
Old dogs... new tricks... whatever.

Hey Ray I appreciate you sticking up for me!! It's nice to see my car being talked about still. It's been down and retired for about a year now. I still have the front bumper for sale.
To whom it may concern: Making a car look nice is what I like to do. Becoming a ricer in someone's eye just makes it all worth while. Let's see you try to pull out 3 custom Contour body kits in about a year and make other Contour Enthusiast feel good about themeselves becasue they have the only one like it.
Build a race car because you want to race and that's what you like doing. Put a 3L motor in your car because you know how and you want to tackle a challenge. hmmmm...Same reasons why I build kits, because I know how to fiberglass. And I want to be able to share it with others.
Bump...
I post a lot of stuff in the Classifieds for Contours. Please check it out. The bumpers are still for sale.

Andre was the very first person to PM me when I joined the boards as svt_contour_r203. Very nice guy, laid back. Appears that he knows his fiberglassing skills very well. He didn't jump down my throat with some stupid remark about "noObs" when I asked who made the fancy bodykit on the white Contour in the "SVTMaxQual" video. And now, over 3 years later, I'm sure he still knows his stuff. What sucks is that his intelligence doesn't appear to be wanted because it's not the "average" thing. Preachin' alongside brotha Ray here, tell me honestly, what would be the mods that you people would tell him to do? Lowering? SVT bodykit that's already on 50% of the cars on this website? Enkei RS5s? God forbid, y'all might actually want to remember to tell him to remove that spoiler while you're at it. The point here is that it's downright arrogant to declare his car "rice" or inferior because it doesn't go as fast as it looks, when in actuality it simply doesn't look or perform the way the overall CEG standard is set at. Do you win car shows by being able to lay down 11s? Hell, if that's the case, I'll go shine up the Sedona and make a plaque that says I trapped at 130.9342 mph last weekend. I'll be a guaranteed shoe-in for the NOPI Nationals! Bottom line is that it just disgusts me that somebody with such vast knowledge and ability to construct fabulous things for a car that has been gasping to stay alive for several years now, simply because he didn't make it the "normal" order. -SAV

Drerok has one of the nicest looking contours on this site. His car is far from rice. Some people just don't understand that not everyone wants their car to be fast I mean lets face it there really isn't anywhere to use alot of power on the roads and having a car that is fast and not driving it is just pointless.

Dude it is for sale in the classifieds as we speak!
He wants $700 shipped anywhere, it needs some work but is probably worth it if you have it. I have spoken to him several times but I just don't know if that is the directions that I want to go. Actually I have to cheap to pop the 700 for a truly unique front bumper. He also has a custom rear bumper that fits nicely with the front bumper.
Go for it!
