Just noticed that the heater fan only seems to work on highest setting (4). Doesn't seem to work on 1, 2 or 3. Any Ideas?

Common problem, and there was a recall for this, as well.

Check out your blower motor resistor. It commonly burns up and causes no operation except in HIGH mode.

A quick search under troubleshooting for "blower resistor" will turn up more information on this subject.

Aww... what the hell.. Here is is for you!

Link to FAQ (I suggest you read EVERY ONE of them for knowledge)

Took the time to read thru the other posts. Thanks for the advice! Now all I need is a day off and some warm weather!

I just changed this out on my friend's '99 Contour - super SIMPLE fix. If you look closely at the picture in the previous post, you'll see the module is held in place by one screw. You'll need a small torx head screw driver - not flat head or phillips - to remove it. Once you take out that screw, simply unplug the old module, plug in the new one and screw it back on. Fan should work just fine after that. The module cost about $13.00 at the Ford Dealer.
