Speaking of which, for those who like the Fusion a bunch, the magazines are saying Ford is considering giving the Fusion the AWD/274bhp/6spd manual of the Mazdaspeed 6 into the Fusion, since they use the same chassis' and engines. Hence the SVT Fusion.

Yeah I heard about that svt fusion in my motor trend magazine. I don't like that idea, for the simple fact that mazda is involved. Thats the same reason I don't really care for the sho yamaha engine.

I don't like SVTCs because Cosworth and Porshe were involved.

Perhaps one day, it will be. I've been pretty keen on this idea for a few weeks now. Keeps growing in momentum as I go through the mental calisthenics and working through potential problems. Might be a fun summer project... RWD V-8 Contour. YIKES!

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

From a cost/effort vs. benefit standpoint, that idea carries too little benefit for me to consider. The setup is tough to find, expensive, has lots of electronics, and I don't even know if you can fit a turbo in there with all that extra hardware. A turbo is the only way it would be worth trying because the NA engine would not be enough to take full advantage of the AWD setup & offset its extra weight/friction.

As you can see, the thought had crossed my mind once-upon-a-time.

i disagree

with my 3L hybrid im severly traction limited, with AWD my car would be so much fun

for a normal or lightly modded car it would be a waste. for a turbo or a decently modded 3L it would be great

Agreed. And Ford owns Cosworth Racing (it's R&D, not a whole other car company like Mazda, owned by Ford or not). And Porsche was involved in our cars? News to me.
