that's what i like. a nice simple two-way.

I prefer three-ways, but my wife isn't in to them.

so those look good for the 4 surrounds, what do you recommend as the center channel

You would need to build it yourself, but it would well, as it is shielded and uses Dayton Drivers.

If you can afford to spend some money, check out the Audax center channel.

Audax/Polydax makes great, inexpensive drivers.

both of my home two-ways use Audax 1" silk dome tweets with Madisound 6.5" woofers. i love the sound. the ported system get solid bass in the 30's and the smaller sealed system drops off in the 50's

my other two-way uses the smaller .75" cloth tweet with a 5.25" Madisound driver. ported, I get decent bass down into the 80's

all three pair probably cost a total of $450 for parts. and they sound better than most "popular" systems, IMO.
