I have a Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering Degree. I am doing my Masters in Mechanical at the moment. I work for General Dynamics as a mechanical engineer.

Long as this thread has all you Engineers attention, I've got a quick question. I'm gonna be going to Colorado State University for an Engineering degree. Is this a pretty reputable school for Engineering? I know it is one of the best in CO, but don't know how it fares nationally. Also, I want to get into Aerospace after graduation, but they don't have that engineering department. As I see it, I can take one of two options.
The first is a BS in Mechanical Engineering The second is a BS in Engineering Science with a concentration on Space Engineering.
Which of these would be a better major for someone looking to get into Aerospace? I figure the Mechanical is a bit more broad, but maybe I won't get the job I want. And obviously, my ideal job would be to work for an astronautics company, or even for the government.
Thanks for the advice fellas!

I found that Aerospace as an undergrad is too specialized. I would recommend a Mech degree and specialize at the masters level. I have worked in the space industry and now am in the defense industry. It won't matter what industry you're in for the first bunch of years while you get general experience. When you're performing "enginerring" you can easily lose sight of the end product. Just focus on getting the fundamentals down like vibration, heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, mechanism dynamics. Then you will be in a better position to decide what type of position you want regardless of industry.

Andalusia, AL -- home of the World Championship Domino Tournament! Google it if you think I'm kidding --
Ft. Walton was our beach hangout growing up, so that had us through Eglin many-a-time.

I originally was going to go for aeronatical/aerospace engineering. I thought a good first step would be to get a pilots license. And I'm glad I did, because piloting a plane scared the crap out of me. I instead went for computer hardware engineering [and graduated a year ago]. heres my pride and joy. my solar powered hydrofoil. but just my 2 cents, aerospace sounds way over specialized.
yes... I am a cougar owner trolling on your board.
