I just hapend to check the oil in earlier today and the oil is just about a quart low. I have less then 1000 before my next oil change which I do every 3K. This is my 1st time that it burned oil. What do you guys think it is. It has 88k on it goin on 89K. Thanks in advance.

Did it actually BURN oil because that means your valve guides could be shot for one.

If it CONSUMED oil that could be due to piston rings.

Of course there are a few other things that can cause burning/consumption, but if your title you say consumption, in your post you say burned so littel unclear there to what your problem is.

The Duratech motor will suck oil into the intake through the PCV and/or the breather tubes, check those lines for signs of oil, if those are clean, look for leaks, if no leaks, could be ring blow-by, these motors also like to leak oil through the valve seals.

Yea it is actually burning oil. I'm about a quart low so im thinkin about changing the oil early and see if itll burn again becuase the oil does look dirty. I hope I dont have bad rings this early.
