A few years ago I bought a prime alarm, which is from avital, and it cost me around 200.00 and I was very happy with it's performance and features. Well I just bought another one; it's a prime amx 68, and I paid 45.00 for it including shipping. Oh BTW it's brand new. I think this model is a few years old because I can't find out too much info on, and can't find out how much it went for new. It has 2 glow in the dark 3 button 6 channel remotes and the alarm itself has alot of features. I'm pretty sure that this was a great deal, but I can't figure out why nobody out bid me on ebay. Did this model have problems, or did I just get lucky? Thanks for any info, Vinny

Only if DEI did, and I doubt that.
To answer the original question, if the alarm has all the goodies, I doubt you're screwed. Usually it's the install that counts most.
***Notice I said USUALLY****
There are some alarms that perform head and shoulders above the rest.

I'm having professionally installed on monday, because to be honest I know absolutely nothing about how to hook up car alarms. The shop that will do it is the same one that did my audio/video install, and they do great work.

As long as it has all the features you want, you should be happy.
A really good shop should even be able to modify it to give you some "extra" features.
