so my car has been at the audio shop getting a loaded clifford ag4 alarm for 2 weeks. the shop is very knowledgeable but having trouble with the pats bypass. he programmed my keys and with the key in the ignition, the remote start works perfectly. but when the key is out it only works like 1 of 20 tries. clifford tech support told them something like the svt's pats system may be sensitive and work at certain ranges/frequencies(not sure the terminology). my shop uses the dei/directed pats bypass 555f or 555u, i think thats what he told me. any suggestions. anyone else have this problem with their alarm and the pats bypass. i know a few people have the ag4 and clifford variants, along with compustars w/ remote start. i want my car back. i haven't had it for like 2 months.

...and yes, I did SEARCH first before asking.

You can actually bypass the PATS system if you really want to. You are installing an alarm that is going to have ignition kill, so do you really need it. What I did with mine was took the chip out of my keys and then used a very strong double sided tape to adhere the chip to my steering column. Here's the tricky part you will need to have the chip aligned perfectly so that the car will start. You do this by using the chipless key, put the chip on the steering column and start the car. If the car starts then that's is where the chip will need to be mounted. I did this to my 'tour over 3 years ago and it is still working to this day. Everytime I hit the remote start button on my remote my car starts, Everytime. You don't need to waste your money on those so called bypass modules, because they really don't work. If you need some more answers email me @ jason@asg-co.com and I will happy to answer any of your questions
