How are things with you guys?
I sold the TURBO SVT Contour about 15 months ago now, my divorce is almost final and my faith in God is even stronger, imagine that.
I don't get to see my daughter as much as I like, but our relationship is becoming closer and deeper since STBXW decided she wanted a 52 year old married boyfriend.
So it's a mixed bag, but I'm landing on my feet. I'm not driving anything exciting right now, but it's been nice to not have a car payment for about a year now.
There is also solace that STBXW will get less in the settlement than I lost in the market in 2000-2001.
The downside is I still pay more in taxes than I do in child support.
Oh, the last upside is that since her BF is 52, I'm pretty sure she will be changing his DEPENDS pretty soon.
I'm still working on forgiveness, it's a day to day process. But I figure if Christ can forgive me, the least I can do is the same for others.
Weren't you getting married, or at least seriously involved with someone last time you were here?

Sorry to learn of your troubles, TB. If it is any solace, things do get better after a divorce. Take it from me. I am with my girlfriend but we are in no hurry to marry. She is busy with her design business and I am now working on a different research project (I used to develop satellite remote sensing algorithms). I know that I am getting old since one of my undergraduate students has received their doctorate in physics. In the mean time, I have published a few papers and will be working with students during the summer on high performance computing research projects.
Take it easy man

I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment
for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety
labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

mmmmmmmm....Tony,
Since I just turned 53, I need to mention something to ya...us guys in our 50's aren't exactly over the hill. I'm cruising the new Corvette catalogues, not shopping for Depends. Anxiously awaiting two years from today, when I get to RETIRE and have 24/7 fun!!

I know 52 is not old, but then again, he probably has more in common with her dad than with her. She will be 35 this year, and me, 40.
He's retired Navy, and WILL lose 1/2 of everything he has now, plus some hefty alimony. He was/(is???) married for 30 years according to his soon to be ex wife.
Sucks to be him, he loses his stuff and gets my spendthrift ex.
It's not all bad for me at all.

It's been a while, Edward. Nice to see some of the old school check back in every now and then, no matter what their opinions.
I'm still plying my trade and expertise in the IT industry and still have a conservative-flavored pinecone stuck up my posterior.
Have you had a chance to wind the GTO out? I'm not a fan of the styling, but I'm a drooling fanatic over the engine platform.
Best wishes!
