Its almost spring here in the bay area and I'm dying to use my sunroof but still can't stand the thought of payin $200+ for a new mechanism. Has anyone came up with a way to fix these crappy gears yet?

A guy thought he came up with a replacement gear last fall for about $50. Let me see if I can find his address.

I've just received an e-mail from this gear making guy. It looks like we're still pretty S.O.L.

"Thanks for the email. Currently I don't have the gear. I have been
trying to come up with a good resin to make the gear but so far I can't
get anything that is strong enough. The cost of making it on the
injection machine is just too much. Keep in eye on my website and the
CEG site for any updates.
