Recently changed the rack in my 96 with a used one. I cant seem to get the right Teflon o-rings for the pressure and return lines. I tried using the old ones over but they did not seal. The Ford dealers show 2 sizes. Both are way too small to fit over the lines. Both of my lines are about 3/4 diameter. Anyone ever run into this? I tried all the local part stores in my area, but none of their o-rings are the right size.

Ok, Ford probalby have the good ones. It is NORMAl that they are too small. You have to stretch them. I use long nose pliers to stretch them.

Nic.

They do have to be stretched. Put the teflon o-rings in hot water for a couple of minutes. Expand them by sliding them down the end of a large round punch to expand them evenly. Use two of them on each fitting. Tighten to about 25 foot pounds. Overtighening them will cause leaks...

Wow, I would have never thought they would need stretched to fit.
I will give it a try. Thanks for the info.
