So I spun my rod bearings. To have the engine rebuilt with new gaskets and bearings, and labor it would cost between
$1000-$1400 and would take 3 weeks to finish.
NOT including reinstallation, which I will do most of.
OR
I found a 98 SVT motor which matches my 98' production date, and it has 100k Mi on it and 235lbs of compression. AND it is only about a few hours away from home.. $1200.

Would it be better to rebuild my old engine and know That its strong and solid? The guy build races motors, I mean like 900 HP beasts!

OR

Would it be better to get this used engine by the end of this week and perhaps have my guy test. Then I would put it in and drive.

Please help ASAP

Thank You

rebilld it. That 100,000 mile SVT motor could be shot to [censored], and 1200.00 is A LOT for a used motor with that many miles. Tack on about 1000-1300 more bucks, you could upgrade to a full 3L swap.
