What do you think about these headers

http://www.ajusa.com/cgi-bin/pacesetter/headers_detail?id=18982&part_num=72C1168&ajr_skey=039885a8719063d3efc63273aa3795a6

Im looking for good midrange torque but dont yet understand how header differences will affect this. So far, I'm still considering the Kamikaze headers, but the headers above caught my eye. Opinions?

that header design is something different.

However I would stay away from anything with the Pacesetter name...their products don't seem to be built to well.

Pacesetter = Cr@p.
Plus anything that's a "shorty" design really doesn't help performance that much. Maybe 1/3 that of a full 4-2-1 or "Tri-Y" design.
4-2-1 headers are best for n/a applications.
If going nitrous or s/c, a 4-1 is the best option.

For the price you'd have some fabbing to do in order to hook it up to your exhaust system = $$$$.

I think the best bang for your buck & ease of install, with the bonus of best performance is HERE.

Use the select box to find the Cougar/Contour header for $385.

Can anybody comment on fitment?? I don't have a set so please educate us...

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

there was a guy on NECO that had the headers and said they fit pretty good and the quality was nice.

I could swear The Cougar and Contour use a different oil pans.
If so, its hard to imagine the same header would fit.

I want a good exhaust system (HF Cat, Header, Dual Ex) that will work with a N/A setup. I think my goal for HP will be around 160 at the wheels

You'll want a Tri-Y header.
Magnaflow makes some nice high-flow cats.
If you really want duals, get a used SVT exhaust.

just make a cholo header!

if you can make some with the tri-y header designz..that would be even better, but a lil harder. Those welds cost a lot of time and patience, can't imagine modifing the tri-y's, but can imagine them installed .

So what exactly MAKES a "Tri Y" design. And why is it beneficial?
