Hello everyone....

I have a small problem. I currently have an safc2 in my svt and my knock sensor goes crazy (ranging in values from 10 to 125) whenever i rev the engine, and then it levels off between 9 and 15 when at idle. This may seem like a stupid question, and although i have searched for a solution i have found nothing. Could someone give me an idea on what to do to get rid of it????

Thanks ahead of time.

I have no idea what a safc2 is, however are you using Alex Peper Software as your scan? He is a good source of info, that is if you can follow his answers?
Not even sure if there is a range for that PID. Ah something else to ponder? I wish I could remember where I recently read about pinging, reference to todays designs it's quite common for light pinging for maxium MPG/effiency? And was not damaging???? This old "forgetter" gets better and better everyday!
If I remember my ole wives tales, an explosion is the most efficient form of combustion?

Still trying to remember Paul

fyi..

safc2 is the apexi super air/flow converter, second edition.

It allows me to adjust my air/fuel ratio across the powerband. It also has a knock sensor which measure the amount of knock continuously. What was really weird is that the knock sensor stopped going crazy after i let my new fill of gas sit for a few hours. Maybe that may have lossened up contaminants in my tank when the gas was being filled? I continuously run combustion cvhamber cleaner to ensure that there is minimal carbon buildup on the innards of my engine, but maybe i just need to take it all apart and go crazy with the berrymans????

Anyone else have ideas???

last time i heard, engine knock, otherwise known as detonation and preignition, was a very bad thing. Or is it???
