My 95 Contour with V6 Duratec has its original coil pack.Current mileage at about 233,500 kms.
Will a new coil pack enhance performance or if the old one still works, should I leave it alone?Granted, the old puppy does not seem to have that old pep anymore at low speeds, but holds its own at hiway speeds. Acceleration is a bit dodgy at times.

Leave it alone. Coil packs don't degrade, they may just eventually fail, and even that isn't all that common.

If you are trying to find gradually lost horsepower, clean things up and replace the maintenance items. Make sure the plugs are good, make sure the air and fuel filters are in good shape, clean the throttle body, do an engine decarbon, and clean the injectors. You will notice a difference.

OK.
thanks, Jim.
I will be doing the cleanup once the warm comes along. The plugs are fairly new mileage wise , but the I do realize the other components do require attending to.
Take care.
