"Cheater amps" as in you want to use them for competitions? Or just inexpensive, powerful amps?

Competition-minded...Such as Orion HCCA's 25x2 (Yeah, right!)....Just not with the Orion price tag. Don't want to move up in competition levels before I've even started.

That all depends on how much you are willing to pay and what kind of competitions you are going into. If you are doing IASCA then you're right you want to keep your power down. If you are going DB drag, well then the bigger the better. IASCA is classed by watts, and DB Drag is classed by number of subs. If you are infact going DB Drag then you are going to need one of the big dogs to keep up. Unfortunately there aren't very many cheap cheeter amps out there like the Orion's anymore.

Right now I have access to 2 Alpine type S 12" giving them 200 each...not much.... I have access to some Orion XTR's rated at 600 RMS each...thought about giving those a whirl.

Hey T-red,
I got a Memphis 1000-d that i might think about selling if the price is right
its 300 watts at 4 ohm 1100 rms at 1 ohm It hammers Had it hooked up to a stroker 15D4 and it was amazing. No #'s though sorry. I know that when i had 2 15D2's and 2 memphis 1000-d's i hit 154.2db unweighted.
Just let me know and maybe ill let you try her out and see what you think. I used it for about 2 months 1 month in the SHO and about a Month in the SVT.
