I will say alpine because I am programmed to, and because I want them. I have a T757 V12 and have nothing but good things to say about them. I also know these new models are much improved internally over the already great previous gen V12s. I will say that the RFs look goofy (think cheap) and if you are concerned at all with the install looking nice, the V12 is the way to go.

But I am an Alpine fan (HUs, amps, not speakers or subwoofer, you can do much better in those two departments) so my opinion is just a little biased laugh

I agree with Honkey IMHO. I mean the rockfords do look "off", and also from what i read, i think the alpines have more potential. As for HU, i just finished installing a Double Din CD, Minidisc into my g/f's focus. Love it already! wink laugh

AH ha! I coudn't figure out what CD player you bought. I thought maybe it was the DDIN size face one that fits the DIN hole (I will own that HU, oh yes I will!) Now it all makes sense! Sweet! I want to see some pics of this stuff man.

Oh yeah, the new V12s don't draw nearly as much power as the old ones, something like half the amps of last years, espescially the digital amps. They are amazing smile

Personally, I wouldn't consider Alpine or RF amps as the bang for the buck is low on either of them. My personal alternative would be a US Acoustics USX-2080 for $80 and $220 in my pocket for more stuff. wink laugh

But, with a gun to my head I'd go with the Alpine amp. The RF's amp output is lower indicated by the 10GA power requirement (8GA for the Alpine) and rating at 14.4V (USX is 12.9V, I think the Alpine is rated at 12.5V). I think the RF amp also has the lowest S/N ratio. Plus, it's ugly and is available at Best Buy!

I like the RF. I have one right now but I have owned a few RF amps in the past and they've handled everything I've dished out.

The older RF amps were much better than their current line-up. They were very underrated, better S/N ratio, etc...

RF has just gone "mainstream" and sells average amps for premium prices based on their reputation built on their above average older stuff.

RF only sells average amps?? Uhmmmm...how do you figure! What kind of an average guy goes and buys a bd1500.1 for some occasional easy listening? Rockford is still as good as they have every been, maybe even better. They are expensive but you get what you pay for. Go buy a rockford amp and then judge it.
