Why not check these out: http://www.morelusa.com/renaissance/cr-103.htm

Better off axis response, play to higher frequencies for both on and off and I have yet to blow one at 200 W rms rating. For best results mount them in the door or A pillar. You want them off axis to get a nice roll off at 20K Hz.

Say I just came from a show this past weekend and the Vifa's you are using are being used as "Prototype Alpine's" in Team Alpine cars.

I have not looked into how true this statement is but a pro with all Alpine including F1 (like $9K processor & HU set up) had them in is car and was telling me this.

Had a nice sound and great image. He did have to tweak the high end up for Attack and Tremble. He also had resonance issues in his car panels but he made top 30 money round for sound!

I was just thinking about the imaging,,,I might have gotten lucky with the placement, but when i was listening this morning to the Gladiator soundtrack,,,the image was locked on top and middle of the dashboard just about,,,With such a busy orchestral recording you can tell they are superb. also soundstage got a bit wider.

Mine are mounted about 2 inches past the doors in the footwells. They are facing me due to the PCV pipe that has an elbow...I used 2 little "L" brackets to attach them to the floor. The fit into teh pipes was perfect.
I may mount a smaller pipe with a midrange next to them,,,

I may have pics by monday
