Finally I have some money saved up for my car. I was thinking about the Bilstein strut/B&G spring 2.25 in. drop kit from SP Motorsports. Anyone have and like/dislike? The 2.25 in. drop looks good but is it practical for an everyday driver?

IMHO, no the 2.25" drop is too low for my everyday practical driver...get eibachs if you really want a low look, but not too low (and beware the ass-sag ). Another excellent street set-up is Koni struts with H&R lowering springs...looks good!

Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.

I'm soon to be running Koni's with a set of Sport B&G springs, H&R's got pricey recently, and tehre is a GB on B&G, i'd recommend avoiding Eibachs due to the afore mention sag in the rear.

As for a 2.25 drop, that is jsut a little excessive for everyday driving, but michigan sucks anyway road-wise.

For the money the Bilstein is a great product. I have seen a lot of dampers pass through our dyno and the Bilsteins tend to "match" better right out of the box. Just because a damper is adjustable does not make it a better product. Due to production tolerances, full soft on one damper can respond the same as mid-range or full hard on the other side.

If the dampers do not come with a dyno plot from the supply house, find a local dealer and have a pull done. It is worth the time and money to get a matched set for the vehicle, you will notice a difference.

Here is a link to give you an example of what a shock dyno pull will tell you:

Yep...and totally not available. Taled to Eric at BAT yesterday. They had just got a shipment in...no Bilsteins...and no idea as to when some more would be coming in...
