yet i see DVD's for sale at target for $7.50. cd's never seem to go below $9.99... now i understand that the movie production companies have their initial investment money re-couped via the theaters, but the percieved value of a DVD is considerablly higher than a CD. people are not going to want to pay more for a cd than they do for a movie. also, artists have tours to make money on. opinions?

All you have to do is watch the Grammies and see what they consider the best music and that will explain why their sales suck. For some reason, RIAA thinks they're immune to the principles of capitalism and assume their dropping sales are because of computers, not because the product they are selling is complete trash. I can count on one hand the number of albums I've gone to the store and purchased in the last 3 years.

So let me get this straight... You overprice your mediocre product and sue your customers, but you can't figure out why your sales are dropping? Makes sense to me.

The Riaa has always complained about sales, what else is new? Looks to me like Music Artists are still living pretty nicely...
