Hey fellas,
I'm installing an alarm in my 99 and I can't seem to figure out the system for the trunk release. Can someone please help me out here, it is all i have left to do to complete the job.
Thanks,
Chris S.

The trunk release on 98+ is a cable system, not electric. Will not work for you unless you get a solenoid kit. Ubid.com has them sometimes for crimestopper alarms...don't know if you can modify it to work with other brands. Could be worth a shot...usually can get one for about $20.

Thanks for the reply, but I already have the keyless with the trunk pop on it. Soo, there must be some sort of electronic device going on here. I can find 12V, but if i recall, both of the wires coming out of the motor are 12V?? the motor is grounded at the chassis?? Both of th wires that are attached to the motor make their way back to the door lock control center in the passenger kickpanel. Any ideas on how this thing works. Somebody has to have a trunk release on their alarm.
Thanks,
Chris S.

I just did mine tonight.Under the pass kick panel behind the glove box area(behind the amp). You can see it if you look under the dash from pass footwell, the factory keyless entry is there, has two plugs on it,one of the plugs has a orange/green wire going to it.Tap into this wire, its posivte trigger so most likely youll need a relay. On relay,85 goes to trigger wire from alarm,86/87 go to +12volts,and 30 goes to orange green wire at keyless module.

oh and you can tap into +12volts right there too, those two factory relays(brown)to the side, the orange yellow wires coming out of them are constant +12volts.
