On my 2000 SVT as soon as the fuel level goes under half a tank, my car will "Buck and bog" in 1st, 2nd, and sometimes 3rd, under hard acceleration. I just did a full tune up w/autolite plat. plugs, stock wires new fuel filter, etc. Im still having the same problem. Autozone said there are no codes showing when they read the codes. This is really starting to piss me off!!! I need help!!!!!!

there is a good chance your fuel pump is dieing... worst then normal, usualy that problem will show up if you go under a quarter a tank... I would suggest getting some of that STP fuel treatment stuff, that rids the tank of water and such, its possbile you have some water in the tank.

sounds like either the fuel pump, or fuel filter, start with the filter, its cheaper, fuel pump isnt bad,you can get it from BAT,its easy to get to as well, just lift up the rear seat

I think what he means is, the fuel filter is easier to do and cheaper before an all out fuel pump.. The filter is located under the car on the Passenger side rear, about 4-6 feet in front of that side's wheel. its a silver Cylinder shaped object with two hoses going from the front to the back, you will know what it looks like when you buy the new part. make sure you are wearing some old clothing, or have a crimp to stop the fuel from spilling all over you (without damaging the fuel line)

Click on SEARCH and enter "Dirty sock" as your search keyword.

There are a couple of relevent threads from awhile back that document this problem and the solution.

It is possible that the in-tank filter needs to be cleaned (as they're impossible to get without buying a whole pump)

I used carb/tb cleaner to clean mine. The valvoline synthetic stuff, but don't let it anywhere near paint or anything like that...

you can buy just the fuel pump through B.A.T, pretty cheap too....way cheaper than buying the whole sending unit

This comes up often. It is answered frequently.

Ford built the returnless fuel pump system with an inadequate filter screen on the bottom of the fuel pump module. The filter screen is either too small or too fine or both. Eventually the screen plugs up on all of them and when it does it will cause a problem just like you described. Usually you just need to take the screen out and throw it away. It isn't needed. There is still a conventional sock filter further inside the pump module.

To see what you are getting into go here:

Look at the very last photo to see the screen in question.

Most likely that is all you really need to do.
