im looking for a new point to ground to in the trunk, since im making a false floor to put all the wiring, etc under, so i cant have my ground up where it is now

so if you guys could just list a few easy to access places in the trunk that provide solid grounds, much appreciated. smile

Here's what I came up with when I did a search for ground location in the Car Audio forum. Hope this helps you out. Post some pics when you are finished.

Take care,

Ryan

The ground to the power windo motor uses, or the mounts for the motor. All you have to do is tighten it down. easy

I used the tail light screw behind the carpet. Just scratch the paint underneath the screw head.

i have it grounded to the rear deck now, and theres still a slight whine, maybe i didnt remove the paint cleanly enough? anyway, ill give these suggestions a shot and try again, id rather find a clean ground low in my trunk to both avoid wires sticking out of my false floor and to save me from buying a noise suppressor

Sound: Man, I am going through a bunch of crap with this now...I made a false floor and raised it up and I cant find any place to ground my amps. You need to keep the ground cable short and its hard to do when you have a heavy ass floor there. I have some engine whine that I need fixed...

People told me to buy a noise supressor..does that hurt sound?

this seems like a common problem lately

anyway, i checked all connections , etc, and all wires are seperated right up until the amp. i sanded even more paint.
im lead to believe it is one or both of two factors:
1. my rear deck is not the most solid ground point
2. my ground wire is just over 3 feet long, and that seems a bit legnthy.
thats why im looking for a ground point that is good near the middle of the trunk floor, to solve both problems at once

Look under the trunk compartment on the passenger
side of the car. There's an access boot that leads
almost directly to the cars frame. How you mount the cable ground to the frame is up to you.how my info helped.
