could it be the amp overheating, I know I have a punch 400 with 2 12's and if I have them up and back seats are in place like supposed to be, they will do that, so when I want to have them hitting hard, I fold down the back seats, which gives more bass up front along with airflow to the trunk cooling my amp.

Recheck your grounds on your amp. It could be a loose connection or a bad ground causing your amp to shut off when it shakes loose or is takin to much power. I had a similar problem (my friend made a half-assed ground) and when i finally went back there to check wtf was goin on there was a hole in my carpet and the ground was very loose lol. Something i've learned is if you don't do it yourself, dont expect it to be done right.

My best guesses are:

#1 over heating
#2 over heating laugh
#3 remote line (test the wire w/ a multi-meter for continuity, its so fragile)
#4 bad (lose) amp ground wherever you attached it

I'd say overheating too, My fosgate amp turns off for 30sec-2 min at a time. They get REALLY hot.

I'd say its time for a new amp and a proper install. Thats nuts having to let your amp cool down.
