I suppose this is really a pointless post, but I killed my first rear subframe today. Stock SE swaybar and poly bushings snapped the passenger tab right in half while pulling into a parking lot. Not too bad considering the thrashing I put it through autocrossing every summer. Looks like I get to drive around without a rear swaybar until I have time to box the subframe over spring break. Hopefully my new aussie bar will be here by then.
1995 SE
Mods- SVT Exhaust.
SVT Intake, E1 SVT Wheels, BAT Euro Suspension, 20% tint sides and rear, 50% tint windshield.
Future Mods- A new third syncro.
It's my boring daily driver that I autocross on the weekends.

Be VERY VERY careful in the corners.
The back end will want to randomly come around on you with only one side tied down.

Yeah, it is a crazy feeling with only one side attached. I had to drive back to school after a weekend at home (around 175 miles of highway) and you really do have to pay attention so it doesn't spin. Especially with stupid snow tires . . . . . . I can't wait for summer . . . . .

I wouldn't drive a car like that, I would flat bed it or repair it somewhere around home.

Hmmm, I may have put that badly. You have to pay more attention than usual to keep the car from spinning. And in a Contour, that's not much. The bar is coming completely off tomorrow night until I get a chance to box the subframe.

maybe in your tour...but not in mine....if it evens thinks its gonna rain out the back end starts lifting and kicking around,and snow...........lets just say it sits in the winter mainly for this reason
