OK... When getting the sticky-goop off the doors, could you use Dissolv-It spray or Oops? Would these damage car paint? If not, it sure beats tediously rolling the crap off with your fingers!

I would hit it with an ample amount of goo gone before even touching the "ding strips", and let it sit for maybe 5 minutes, then keep adding goo gone as you see fit and it'll come off, no matter what it will be very tedious. Goo Gone didn't hurt my paint at all.

I used 3m adhesive remover on mine and it didn't damage the paint but make sure you wipe it off afterwords like it says on the instructions.

I don't remember what I used, it was some tough chemical, and it was okay. I tested it on the edge of my wheelwell first. Dont' forget to wax when you're done! I had a lot of work before my strip-marks were gone.

I "Knauberized" my car last fall there is no turning back
Glue Strip removal tip...I pulled the "Ding" strips off and was able to get the 3M tape off in about 15-20 minutes max and no sore fingers. I used a BONDO brand plastic body filler spreader (3-pack No. 357) from Walmart I think. I used the smallest one of the 3 and kind of used a sawing motion while gently pulling the tap away. Worked awesome...then washed real good and then some "Goo Gone: to get the small bits of glue residue left off.

same here. i got dings while i had the ding guards on. they dont really do much. a car's "point" on the door would have to be at that precise level for the guards to do their job. obviously, the outermost point on a car's door varies greatly with billions of cars out there. these stupid things are more for aesthetics than anything, although we dont like them. ive heard them referred to as "breakup lines" which are there to break up the vastness of a plain door. some cars actually look kind of funny when their guards are removed.

Another vote for "Door ding guards = useless"
I got hit with them, and not a scratch since then. If you like the look, cool, but I think the plain door panel is more european.
I guess this has already all been said 1000 times before, but whatever.
