the 2 boston's 12.5 pro's came today. now all I have to do is build a box. currently I'm running one of them in a freinds box off a 200 watt jenson. but I'll eventually have my 2 jbl 1200.1

the plan right now is to run 600 rms on normal day @ 4ohm and when I enter competion run them in 2ohm wireing to pull the 1200 watts to each sub. now all I need is to get ride of the pesky trunk rattle

how are you going to pull off running them in 2 or 4 ohm?

1200 Watts @ 2 ohms is the same as 600 watts @ 4 ohms.
Your POWER OUTPUT is identical.

Choose your settings and then forget it.

Pete,
that's not true. 1200w is 2x as much power as 600w regardless of the impedance.

you mean, 4x, right? since you are pushing twice the power into half the resistance.

are the subs DVC? not sure how you'll turn 2 12s at 4 ohms into 2 12s at 2 ohms unless they are DVC.

EDIT: unless you mean 600watts for two channels at 4 ohms >>> change to >>> 1200watts for one channel at 2 ohms. that would make sense.

this is how, I talked to a car audio shop and they said it would be safe to wire the subs in // from 2 amps. so when I wire in // to 2 subs that gives them 600 watts each running at 2 ohms at the amp, so by adding another amp running at 2ohm wired in // watts will add and give me 1200 to each sub

but if this isn't going to work please tell me.

I don't follow that diagram at all.

BTW, you will only need 1 JBL 1200.1 2 would be overkill and probably too much power.

What kind of whacked out stuff is that shop trying to tell you? confused

If it were me (and assuming you have 4ohm SVC subs) I'd be running them to a single amp in parallel. Each sub would be getting 600w and there'd be more than enough output to cave your skull in.

Those are 4ohm SVC subs, right?
