Well, i searched all around the forum trying to find a place where I can get a cheap retaining clip for the shift boot. Ya know, the part that holds the shift boot to the console. One of the plastic clips on mine broke and whenever i shift, the friggin thing comes out and it's starting to really bug me. Any other ideas on how I can keep it in there (i'm NOT gonna glue it in!)? thanks a bunch

Your best bet would be a junk yard... I'm sure it wouldnt be too hard to find one there. Or try the classifieds, alot of times CEG'ers scrap out their cars and post their ads.

Anywho, if i don't find one, i'll try n figure out some way to just keep mine on, maybe hit home depot and see if i get any ideas

There is a how to somewhere on here for fixing this.. damnit, I can't think of it. Its a "fix" for when you replace the boot, someone made a way to tack it back in becuase those stupid little tabs break off when you remove it (becuase it is heat welded). It involves some gluing, though but I ehar its pretty muc the only way to fix it, without buying the whole thing.. which is expensive as you know. try using the search funtion and typing in "shift boot" or "broken tab" under "general mods" or aestetics. Its an oldy too, so ectend your search to all posts. Hope that helps any.
