Dont replace your lows with highs. The low beams have a black cap on the top. If you replace with high beams others may flash you. Or worse case cop could pull you over. Get a set of H.I.D. white fog lamps and point them towards the ground no farther then 5 ft in front of the car. Or you will blind other drivers and/ or cops. which could lead to alot of trouble. i needed more light on my car cause of the previous owner painted then and tried to remove the paint. so they are severly fogged and dim. hope my info helps. even though the top of a low beam bulb is blacked out there is also block from strait on light on the assembly. With ahigh beam bulb instead it would still be aimed like a low beem just be brighter. do you really think im askin for trouble. Found posts in the archives about this.

I have highs in both sockets and its the cats ass

no one will give you sheet for it man, takes less then 5 min to change out the bulbs. People on here are running custom hid setups and not being bothered so you adding another 5-10 watts (something like that) aint gonna get you noticed any quicker by the 50

Matt, it sounds like you have it already figured out... running the highs instead of lows IS a popular mod, and can easily be done by dremeling (or XACTO knifing) the tiny tab on the high bulb so it will fit in the low socket.

the assembly has a block, and it is aimed lower.

If you are gonna upgrade.. check out the Sylvania silverstars.. run 4 highbeams bulbs with that brand and you're good to go.

What my friend did was aim the low beams all the way down, so they cant go down anymore. And he just drives around with his low and high's on. He doesnt get flashed tho cuz the highs aren't flashing high enough to piss people off. Plus, it looks kinda cool to cuz the whole headlight assembly is shining light.

That's kind of dumb because you can't take full advantage of the high beams when you need them.

I recently replced 9005 high beam cool blues in my lows after having regular highs and I still dont have any problems. Never got flased and its a lot whiter. I hope you enjoy the mod.
