I was wondering if anyone else has had any problems with mp3 decks (burning on a cd-r). I have been expiriencing some problems with skipping occuring often. Could it be that i have to use the mounting bracket and screw it into the back of the deck to just give it that extra bit of stability? Or is there an easier way...? The reason i really dont want to do the mounting bracket thing is because id have to take my whole dash apart in order to put it on.

Does it only skip when the HU is jarred(going over bump?). What HU is it BTW?

Yea it usually skips over bumps.

Sounds like the laser is not properly aligned. Take it back to where you bought it from and tell them you want it fixed. No matter the make, no current model HU should skip so easily

I installed a pioneer premier deck with the mp3 decoder in my roommate's 2001 F250 and it sounds awesome. never had any problems with it

I don't know whats wrong with it. If its a laser fault it should skip when the car isn't moving right?

My g/f has an aiwa. It skips all the time. Is this only happening when you are playing Mp3s? Are you using the older cdrs that have the green tint or the newer and much improved silver tinted ones? How old is your burner? Are the cds scratched? Are the scratches from the laser or from your cd magazine or from use or what?
