I've got a 95 GL with the Duratec V6. The intake pipe that came on the car was not all that good and eventually went bad, to the point where it would slip and not be air-tight until I tightened it up. When it would slip the car would run funny. It would be fine while dirving, but whenever I came to a stop with the car running the idle would alternately rev and fall by about 500 RPM's. Sometimes it would also stall out completely as I was coming up to a stoplight and would push in the clutch and let off the gas. After I put on the new AEM short intake it stopped doing both of these things for a few weeks, but it started doing that again. Why is that? If anyone has any ideas please let me know. Thank you.

Any unmetered air will cause this.

Vacuum leaks at the intake gaskets, PCV valve, or vacuum hoses.

Intake tract leaks including PCV fresh air hoses, IAC hose, or as you found out - the main accordian hose.

If this 95 has the original intake gaskets, change them for sure.
