had my vct changed on my 98 zetec and have some jerking on light gas pedal acceleration. went to change plugs and found oil around the threads, didnt look like it was on the plug tips but im no mechanic. what would cause this? leaking valve cover gasket? is it possible it leaks inside and not outside the gasket? i dont see any leaks outside. also i smell a oil smell coming through the vents when the heat is on. could this all be related? i dont think they changed the gasket when they did the vct. i also have no CEL with this jerking.
