Here's some true lyricists:
Atmosphere, Brother Ali, King Gordy, and Braille Brizzy .
You'll like at least one of those. I have really been liking Nas Stillmatic lately... Atmosphere is from Minneapolis, MN BTW

Bone Brothers comes out next Tuesday. I've heard a couple songs off that CD and I can say it has some promise.

Yes, in fact he is far from being bad. His raps are just so raw (no pun intended) and his rhymes are addictive. For two months straight, all I listened to was Immoratal. Also check out Jedi Mind Tricks, Mos Def, The Pharcyde, Hieroglyphics, Aesop Rock, Eyedea and Abilities, and Non-Phixion (pronounced Fiction). All quality hip-hop.

Ive Gotta Say That Mid-Central Rap Is Coming Up Finally.
Tech N9ne Is By Far One Of The Best Out Today.
Also On The "Strange Music" Label Are:
Big Kriz Calico
Scatterman And Snug Brim
All Definately Talented As Hell
But Outkast And 2Pac Are Still My Top Two...
Then Comes Tech N9ne

i don't venture into much 'new' hip hop / rap since there's not much there worth listening to.

anyways, the newest stuff i've listened to:

ti - urban legend. the southern version of jay z...he's got the ego to back it up.

luda - red light. it's ok. he's feeling himself too.

game - the documentary. would this dude stop the annoying name dropping! gimmick rap, but otherwise the beats are fire.

ghostface - pretty toney. not really new, but i'm late. hot album imo.

camron - purple haze. garbage except for about 3 tracks. funny in most places. quack quack quack.

young buck - cashville. pretty good for a g-unit album. typical gangsta bust your head open rap.

lil wayne - carter. i actually expected worse. not a bad album.

oh well. back to 86-94 hip hop for me.
