I have a 96 and a 99 , both have CD premium sound, but the 96 sounds absolutely stunning by comparison to the 99. I just throught it was Ford's decontenting coming up somehow. But then my sister was rear-ended in the 96, and the radio + bezel popped out. So when I was photographing everything for the insurance, I notice on the radio the warantee sticker was cut and there was a label by a shop in rochester hills. The 96 is in the shop, and I can't read the shops number from my picture.
So I thought I would ask, has anyone ever heard of a shop modifying a factory radio? In case you haven't figuired it out, we got the 96 used and the 99 new.
I am really wondering, because I have done some small radio work to the 99 and it still doesn't compare.
So you know the 99 has the pioneer 6x8 plates TS-682? and an aiwa (don't laugh) head.
