I was driving today with my stock system all the way up, and all of a sudden my left front speaker stops
working. After i stopped off somewhere, restarted my car, started the system and now it was working, but 2 mins later it stopped working again.
Then later on for a few seconds, on hard bass lines, the speaker would put out some nasty static...

Is my speaker blown, or is it loose wiring or something else??

Thanks, i just checked in the MODS, and these are the two speakers it says i can get:

Pioneer TS-A6813/TS-A6815 and TS-D682
Infinity Kappa 572

Am i am slowly gonna start putting together a good system so
Of out these which should i get?

Are there any other models that would fit right in without any modification?
Any other recommendations for front speakers?

infinity kappa will sound cleaner with a good crossover. I have pioneers (see sig?) and they sound ok....not awesome...but ok.

These come with crossovers and are better IMO than the Infinity's

Pioneer TS-A6857 will also work. They are 2 ways and sound pretty good. You need to replace your head unit as well. Most pioneers will run good off of a good head unit. The higher wattage and size you go the better,, and sensetivity. You can always shove 6x9s in if you are ambitious. Or do as everyone else says and get components. If you just want a easy upgrade, I recommend the pioneers or infinitys.

i hade the same probelm when i got the car.. 2 speakers were blown.. Infinity reference speakers 5752cf will fit in fine.. But you will need to drill 1 new hole in each door for a perfect fit....

99 Silver frost Contour LX ztec..
35% tints all around..
