So im on the way to work, and i see this blue tour, has the same tailights so im assumin its pre 98 well as I get closer I see the mondeo badge.
Now im wondering if its a regular tour that just has the badge or an actual mondeo. The car looks just like mine and has the 24v DOHC emblem on the side, other than that rear name badge it looks identical.
Any one know ?? Is it anyones on here (it was in Riverside California Near North High school this morning)

Well, not to burst your bubble, but I put on the Mondeo and ST200 badging on my SVT. It's probably just a badge as well....

Thats what im wondering, are there any main body differences between the tour and mondeo?
I am pretty sure that its just a badge as it looks Identical to my car.
Then obviously someone in so cal knows whats going on with the tour/mondeo

The fronts of MK1 Mondeos looked slightly different from pre-98 Contours, and the fronts of MK2 Mondeos looked almost identical to post-98 Contours. However, the rears on both are dead giveaways - if it resembled anything similar to your own car, then it's definitely not a Mondeo.
pre-97 Mondeo (MK1):
pre-95 Mondeo? (hatch as well)
97+ Mondeo (MK2):

What's interesting in the 3/4 rear photo of the silver Modeo with the Mercedes parked in front of it and the white cube van in the driveway: parked in front of the cube van appears to be a red Capri. This is most likely the German Mercury Capri. Had one of these, an RS Rally Sport, with the Cologne V-6 and 4 spd manual trans - what an awesome handling car with a screamer of an engine! Reminds me of my 96 Contour GL V6. Sadly it was so badly rusted by the time I got it that it was eventually unsafe to drive.

how did you get all that info from just the roof and part of the front
thats a Photo of a British Mondeo with a British registered Ford Granada parked in front of it so i would say it was Safe to assume this photo was taken in the UK (not to mention the Saint Georges cross on the boot of the mondeo)
and here in England the Capri was Built with anything from a 1.3 to a 3.1 litre engine with also the Tickford Turbo Version
do you base your Post Purely on the Fact there is a Mercedes Van in the pic it must be Germany ?
sorry to sound like i'm having a go but you sould realy listen to what your saying

Depends on the tags. The Mondeo is currently for sale in Mexico. So if it had Mexico tags, it could really be one.

I am and I did. It's been like that for over a year now. Unless I turbo or S/C, there's nothing else I can do to my car at this point. I was bored and had nothing better to do.
As for a true Mondeo, there was a Mk III at my home a few years ago. It was from Mexico, the guy was on vacation here....
