From what I've read in audio mags, below a certain frequency, the orientation of the subs make no difference - but I forget what the threshold is.

Maybe I should just toss it in there and move it around until I find a good spot - I have a single 12 fireing to the right side of the car, it works but I'm now getting 2 10s , kinda changes everything.

traditionally it would work better in cars with our kinds of trunks to face the subs firing backward, so the waves bounce off the large surface of the back of the trunk, this usually gives you more boom

If you can place the box right up against the back seats, that is your best bet, firing towards the rear. I have a single 10 firing towards the front, but it is in the rear of my trunk. Placing it that way helps the sound seem like the bass is coming from the doors more than the trunk. 2 10's will be different though, they give a lot better and more fulfilling sound, so i would face them to the rear

All I know is with ported, the ports go near back seat and subs face rear.
